Festival Cap Rocat
The international music festival
About Cap Rocat
Cap Rocat is located in a former military fortress, which is listed as a heritage site with the category of national monument. The fortress is characterised by a unique architecture that focused on integrating seamlessly with the landscape and with its 2km of pristine coastline. The restoration of the fortress and its conversion into a hotel was carried out by the architectural studio of Antonio Obrador. Subsequently Cap Rocat received the highest national and international awards for this restoration, including the Europa Nostra Award for Cultural Heritage for its impeccable restoration, the Hispania Nostra Award as well as the Fortress Study Group award, among others.
Organized by the Madina Mayurqa Foundation
Guided by the fact that culture is the source of knowledge that vertebrates our society, the Madina Mayurqa Foundation has as one of its main objectives the realisation of high quality cultural events on the island. With this intention, it partnered with Cap Rocat to create the Cap Rocat Festival.
In addition to creating cultural events, the Foundation is also focused on preserving local traditions as well as the architectural heritage of Mallorca.
